Applying for a Grant                  Guidance Notes

Eckington Parish Council allocates a sum of money each year for the provision of grants to local groups.

Who can apply?

Any non-profit making group operating in the Parish of Eckington for the benefit of the residents of the Parish of Eckington.

What can you apply for?

You can apply for
ONE of the following:

Grant FORM 1
The Parish Council normally allocates grants between 50 and 200.  The amount awarded is at the discretion of the Parish Council.

Hire Costs for Community Hall FORM 2
You are invited to ask for a grant to contribute towards the cost of a one-off hire of Eckington Civic Centre, Marsh Lane Community Hall or Renishaw and Spinkhill Village Hall for a group activity.

When can you apply?

You can apply for a grant at any time but you can only apply for a grant once in every twelve month period.

How do you apply?

There are 2 forms, one for each of the different types of grant.  Please use the form which best suits the grant you are applying for.

You can apply on-line or download the application form and return to Eckington Parish Council Clerk, Eckington Civic Centre, Market Street, Eckington, S21 4JG.

What information do you need to provide?

In applying for a grant you are asked to provide information to help the Parish Council make a decision, such as, who you are, what you do and who benefits.  We also ask for financial information so that the Parish Council can be assured that it is spending public money wisely.  In deciding how much money to grant the Parish Council will pay particular attention to your fund raising activity.

How will the information be used?

The Parish Council reserves the right to use information provided for publicity purposes (excluding personal and financial details without prior consent).  6 to 9 months after you have been awarded a grant we will contact you so that you can let us know how the money has been spent and what impact it has made to your group and the residents of Eckington Parish.

How long will it take to decide on your application?

Your
application will be considered by the Parish Council at its next appropriate meeting.  You will be notified of the decision after the meeting.  Should you wish to attend the Parish Council meeting please contact the Clerk for details on 07715668815 or clerk@eckington-pc.gov.uk

If your application is successful you will be invited to the next meeting of the Parish Council to receive your cheque.
