Cllr Carol Lloyd

Cllr Carol Lloyd

Carol Lloyd grew up in a remote farmhouse on the edge of the peak district. She comes from generations of engineers and farmers. Carol qualified in rural estate management at Harper Adams and had a career down south before moving to Derbyshire over 20 years ago. She currently supports people through her regular office work in Eckington and used to pick up additional dementia care shifts at a DCC residential and community care centre.

Carol has worked at all levels and brings years of experience and skills, for example health trainer & wellbeing worker, national policy adviser, e-commerce, agri-business, licensed trade, dementia care & casework. She was involved with a farming charity based in the Peaks for nearly a decade. It was here she delivered a Time to Change rural Derbyshire initiative and worked with volunteers to tackle the stigma around mental health at over 20 rural events through 100s of shared conversations.

Carol is looking forward to seeing how best to advocate and support mental health within our community and welcomes your views and ideas about how to do this.

Carol enjoys pottering around her garden and doing family research from time to time. She has already traced her Derbyshire roots back to a vicar of Edensor and Heath from 1600s.
