At Eckington Cemetery we know how important it is for a Funeral to go ahead as seamlessly as possible. We work together with Funeral Directors and families to make sure your loved ones are cared for with the up most respect, and our staff are on hand to continue to maintain the grave space once the burial has taken place.
If you are using a Funeral Director, you don't need to contact us, your chosen company will book the burial and liaise with us.
If you are arranging a burial without a Funeral Director, you will need to contact the Cemetery Administrator to book your preferred date and time. You will also need to complete an interment form which can be found HERE and send this to the Parish Council office prior to the funeral.
All fees must be paid no later than two days before an interment takes place and the green Certificate of Burial or white Cremation Certificate must be sent to the Cemetery Administrator prior to the funeral, it is illegal for a funeral to go ahead without these certificates.
On the day of the Burial, a member of staff will greet you and guide you to the graveside, our staff will then oversee the funeral and be on hand should you need assistance
If you have purchased a new grave, the Exclusive Right of Burial (Deed) will be sent out to you along with a copy of the Cemetery rules, once this has been signed by two Parish Councillors and the Parish Clerk.
If you wish to pre-purchase a grave space, you will need to fill out a plot reservation form which can be found HERE Once completed, please send this along with payment to the Parish Council office and the Cemetery Administrator will then allocate a grave space to you. The Exclusive Right of Burial (Deed) will be sent out to you along with a copy of the Cemetery rules, once this has been signed by two Parish Councillors and the Parish Clerk.
